There are 4 methods mentioned below by which you can change the color of your text in Windows 10.

Method 1 – By Creating A Custom High Contrast Theme:

In Windows, there is a high contrast setting for people with visual impairment. You can change the size and color of fonts and also the background. It also provides customizability for a better Windows experience for others. To change the text color by creating a custom high contrast theme:

1.Right-click on the Start Menu.
2.Select the Settings option from the pop-up menu.
3.Click on the Ease of Access option.
4.Select the High Contrast option in the left panel.
5.On the right-panel, enable the Turn on high contrast toggle.
6.After 5 seconds the high contrast mode will be enabled.

7.Change the color of Text, Hyperlink, Disabled Text, Selected Text, Button Text, and Background.
8.You can also change the theme by clicking on the Choose a theme drop-down menu.

Method 2 – By Changing The Accent Color:

You can change the font color by changing the accent color from Color settings. From this, you can customize the color of the Start button, action center, Taskbar, and title bars. The font of the options in the Settings app will also change to the selected accent color. But, it will not change the font color for all text on Windows 10. To do so:

1.Open the Settings app again.
2.Click on the Personalization option.
3.Select the Colors option.
4.Select the color that you prefer in the Choose your accent color mode.
5.The accent color will change when you select it.

6.The color of the options in the Settings app will change to the Accent color.
7.You can also select the Custom color option and choose the color that you want.
8.In the Show accent color on the following surfaces section, you will see the option to enable the accent color for Start, taskbar, and action center or Title bars and window borders.

Method 3 – By Changing The Registry:

The first method will allow you to change the font color along with high contrast mode. The second method will only change the font color for specific GUIs. There is not specific option in Windows to change the font color entirely. You will need to edit the registry keys to change font color in Windows 10 of all text GUIs.

Before trying this method make sure to backup your Registry. To change Windows 10 font color by tweaking the Registry keys:

1.Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run utility.
2.Type regedit.
3.Press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
4.Navigate to the following Registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors
5.After selecting the Colors key, check for the string value WindowsText on the right panel.
6.This value is responsible for the default text color of the open document in Windows 10.

7.Change its value to change the font color.
8.To know the value of the color you want, open Microsoft Paint.
9.Click on the Edit colors option in the Home tab of Paint.
10.Select the color you want.
11.You will be able to check that color’s value below it.

12.Now in the Registry Editor, double-click on the WindowsText string value from step 4.
13.Set the Red, Green, Blue values in the order shown below:

14.Click on the OK option to save the value.
15.Close the Registry Editor.
16.Restart the computer of the new font color to take effect.
17.After the restarts, you will find many system apps with the new font color.

Method 4 – Use 3rd Party Apps:

There are many 3rd party apps that can be used to change the font color of the Desktop icons. Desktop Icon Toy is an app for this, which is free to use. Just:

1.Download and install it.
2.Launch the app and select Color option from the left panel.
3.Click on the Change Text Color option and select the color that you like.
4.Check the Disable text drop shadow to allow changing color box to unlock the text color pallet.
5.Click on OK to save the changes.
6.Restart the computer.
