How To Disable Fullscreen Optimizations In Windows 10 11?
In the previous version of Windows, there is a dedicated option to disable this feature. But, in Windows 10 and 11, the Fullscreen Optimization feature is set by default. Follow the methods mentioned below to disable the Fullscreen Optimization feature.
Method 1 – Disable Fullscreen Optimization For A Single Application:
You can disable the Fullscreen optimization for single apps. To do so:
1.Right-click on the app or game you want to start without Fullscreen Optimization.
2.Click on the Properties option from the right-click context menu.
3.Select the Compatibility option.
4.Check the Disable fullscreen optimizations option in the Settings section.
5.Click on Apply and OK to save the changes.
6.The application will start without using the Fullscreen Optimizations feature.
By doing this, the Fullscreen optimization will be disabled in the app of that particular user account. If you want to do this for all the users, then in the Compatibility tab in the Properties of the app or game, you have to click on the Change Settings for all users option. Then, check the Disable fullscreen optimizations option. Click on Apply and OK to save the changes.
Method 2 – Fullscreen Optimization From Registry:
If you want to disable the Fullscreen optimization for all apps in the latest Windows 10 version and Windows 11, then you have to make some changes in the Registry. To do so:
1.Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run utility.
2.Type regedit.
3.Press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
4.Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore
5.On the right panel, right-click on the empty white area and select New >> DWORD (32-bit) Value.
6.This will create a new DWORD.
7.Name the new DWORD GameDVR_DSEBehavior and double-click on it.
8.Set 2 as the value to disable Fullscreen Optimization.
9.Click on OK to save the changes.
10.If you want to enable Fullscreen Optimization again, then simply change the value to 0 from 2.
11.Finally, close the Registry Editor.
12.Restart the computer.
