How To Fully Uninstall AVG?
There are four main steps in uninstalling the AVG app from your computer. Follow the steps one by one for this procedure.
Step 1 – Uninstalling The AVG:
To uninstall the AVG:
1.Press the Windows key on your keyboard.
2.Type Control Panel in the search bar.
3.Select the Control Panel option.
4.It will be listed at the top of the search results.
5.Click on the Uninstall a program option in the Programs section.
6.Then, locate AVG in the list.
7.Right-click on it.
8.Select the Uninstall option.
9.Follow the steps in the uninstall wizard.
10.The app will be removed from Windows 10.
The other way to uninstall AVG is:
1.Press the Windows key.
2.Type Apps and Features in the search bar.
3.Select AVG and click on the Uninstall option.
4.Follow the steps in the uninstall wizard.
5.The app will be removed from Windows 10.
Step 2 – Use The AVG Clear App:
When the AVG is installed, you have to download the AVG clear app. Run it to clear some of the residue AVG files. To do so:
1.Download AVG clear from here.
2.Then install it.
3.After that, you need to enter Safe Mode to run it.
4.You can run it normally, but it is recommended to do so in Safe Mode to remove most of the AVG residue files.
5.Press the Windows + I keys to open the Settings app.
6.Click on the Update and Security option.
7.Then, select the Recovery option on the left panel.
8.Select the Restart Now option in the Advanced Startup section.
9.Wait for your PC to restart.
10.Windows will directly boot into recovery options.
11.Click on the Troubleshoot option after the PC restarts.
12.Next, click on the Advanced Options.
13.Select the Startup Settings option.
14.Press F4 on your keyboard to restart your computer and boot in Safe Mode.
15.Now, run the AVG Clear application.
16.You will now need to specify the details of the AVG installation.
17.Click on the Uninstall option.
18.Finally, select the Restart computer option.
Step 3 – Use The AVG Remover App:
The next step is to use the AVG clear app. To do so:
1.Download AVG remover from here.
2.Then install it.
3.Run the app and click on the AVG Remover Continue option.
4.AVG will now scan your PC for any AVG related products.
5.When the scans are finished, a box will appear asking if you really want to uninstall AVG or not.
6.Confirm the prompt.
7.Now, wait for AVG to finish removing the residue files.
8.Then, click on the Restart option.
9.If still you cannot uninstall AVG, try the next step.
Step 4 – Manually Delete The Residue Files:
If the above-mentioned steps failed in uninstalling the AVG, then remove the residue files manually. To do so:
1.Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run utility.
2.Type Temp and press Enter.
3.Delete any file named with AVG.
4.Open Run utility again.
5.Type %temp%.
6.Press Enter to open it.
7.Again delete every file and folder named AVG.
8.Open the Run utility again.
9.Type %appdata%, and press Enter.
10.Delete all AVG files and folders.
11.Run %programdata% this time.
12.Then, delete every folder named AVG.
