How To Fix No Boot Disk Has Been Detected Or The Disk Has Failed Error?
Method 1 – Change The Boot Order:
No boot disk detected error can be caused if the onbootable device is not selected on the top of the Boot Override Menu. The computer tries to find the installation device, but didn’t find it. So, the no boot disk detected error gets shown. Simply move the boot device to the top of the boot order. To do so:
1.First, insert the boot device (DVD or USB).
2.Then restart your computer.
3.Wait for the computer to boot up.
4.Then press F10.
5.Now, the Boot Override Menu should be up on your screen.
6.Change the Boot order in the boot section.
7.Put the boot device at the top of the order.
8.Now, start the installation process.
9.Check if the problem is solved or not.
Method 2 – Run The Check Disk Scan:
Faulty or broken HDD/SSD can also cause the ‘No Boot Disk Detected Error’. There is an in-built utility in Windows to check the HDD/SSD known as Check disk (Chkdsk) utility. It will scan the errors of the HDD/SSD and resolve them. To run the Check disk scan:

2.Then click on the Save and Restart options.
3.Now, select your preferred language, time zones, and currency.

5.There will be an option ‘Repair your computer’ in the bottom left of your screen.

7.This will open up the Choose an option blue screen on your PC.
8.Click on the Troubleshoot option.

10.Click on the Command Prompt option.
11.The Command Prompt will open on your screen.
12.Now, type chkdsk in the Command Prompt.
13.Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

Method 3 – Run The SFC Scan:
If the error didn’t get resolved from the check disk scan, then run the SFC scan. System File Checker or SFC is an inbuilt utility of Windows 10. It scans the computer for any corrupted system files and fixes them. To run the SFC scan:
1.Open the Run utility by pressing the Windows + R keys.
2.Type cmd.
3.Press the Ctrl + Shift + Enter keys to open an elevated Command Prompt.
4.Type the following command: sfc /scannow and press Enter.
5.The scan will take some time to finish so don’t close it before it finishes.
6.After the scan finishes, restart your computer and check if the error gets fixed.
Method 4 – Repair Windows:
Try startup repair of your Windows to fix this issue. To do so:
1.Open the Advanced options by following Solution 2.
2.Click on the Automatic Repair option.
3.Follow the instructions given on your screen to repair your Windows.
4.Wait for the Automatic repair to finish.
5.Then check if it fixed this problem for you or not.
Method 5 – Check The Connection Between The Hard Disk and PC:
There can be some loose connection between the hard disk and PC. To check the connection between the hard disk and PC:
1.First, turn off the computer completely.
2.Open the cabinet of your computer or laptop.
3.Disconnect the hard disk from the PC by detaching all the wires linking them.
4.Now, clean all the ports and wirings with a dry clean cloth.
