Method 1 – Check Your Internet Connection:

Method 2 – Try To Connect With A Different Server:

Sometimes the server that you are connected to can be down. Disconnect from that server and connect to the server of another country, as there are over 30 countries where PIA has its servers.

Method 3 – Change The DNS:

The default DNS of your network can be incompatible with PIA. Change it to the public DNS. To do so:

1.Type Network status in the Windows search bar.
2.Select the appropriate option.
3.Below the Change your network settings click on the Change adaptor options.
4.Right-click on the network adaptor you are using..
5.Click on the Properties option.
6.Find the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and double-click on it.

7.Select the Use the following DNS server addresses and then enter the following values:
Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4

8.Finally, click OK.
9.Then restart your computer.
10.If the problem still persists, then try the next solution.

Method 4 – Clear DNS Cache:

A corrupted DNS cache can also cause this error. For this, use the flush DNS command. It will clear out all the cache of name to IP entries and will reload them from the connected DNS server. To do so:

1.Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog.
2.Type cmd.
3.Then press the Ctrl+ Shift+ Enter keys to open an elevated Command Prompt.
4.Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

5.Now, the DNS cache is cleared.
6.Check, if the issue still exist or not.

Method 5 – Disable Your Proxy:

If the Proxy is enabled, then It can cause Private Internet Access can’t connect to the internet error. To disable Proxy:

1.Open the Network Status by following Solution 3.
2.Select the Proxy option on the left side of the screen.
3.Now, turn off all the options.

4.Check if PIA connects to the internet.

Method 6 – Change The VPN Port:

If you have tried all the above-given methods, then try changing the VPN port. To change the VPN port:

1.Disconnect from the VPN.
2.Next, open Private Internet Access.
3.Click on the menu button (3 vertical dots).
4.Click on the Settings option from the pop-up menu.

5.Now, click on the Connection tab and set the Connection type to UDP.
6.Then change the Remote Port to 1194.
7.Click on the Save option and then connect to the VPN.

If the problem is still there, then repeat the above steps but:

Change the Port to 8080, 9201 or 53 and reconnect each time to check if the problem has been resolved.

If the problem still persists, then:

Change the Connection type to TCP and the Remote port to auto and save the settings and reconnect.

If the issue still not solved, then:

Change the Remote port to 443, 110, 80 or enter 53 in the local port box and then each time reconnect and check if the problem persists.
