Step 1 – Uninstall The Avast Cleanup App:

Follow the steps below to uninstall the app from Apps and Features settings:

1.Press the Windows + I keys on your keyboard to open the Settings app.
2.Click on the Apps option.
3.Next, select the Apps and features option.
4.On the right pane, locate the Avast Cleanup app.
5.Select Avast Cleanup.
6.Click on the Uninstall option.
7.Follow the instructions to complete the uninstallation process.

If Avast cleanup is not mentioned in the Apps and Features settings, then try to uninstall it from the control panel. Follow the steps:

1.Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run utility.
2.Type appwiz.cpl in the search bar.
3.Press Enter to open the Programs and features console.
4.Locate Avast cleanup on the listed apps and right-click on it.
5.Select the Uninstall option.
6.Follow the instructions to complete the uninstallation process.

Step 2 – Delete Residual File Of Avast Cleanup:

Now, delete the registry keys and residual data from the local files. Before taking any action, create a system recovery point that if you delete any registry key by mistake, you can restore it later.

Follow the steps below to delete the residual registry keys:

1.Open the Run utility again.
2.Type regedit in the search bar.
3.Press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
4.Select the Computer key.
5.Then press Ctrl + F to open the Find utility in Registry Editor.
6.Type AVAST and press Enter to locate the Avast cleanup residual keys.
7.Check the keys one by one.
8.Delete all the Avast clean-up keys (Do these steps with caution and care, if you think you can’t, then stop).
9.When you are done, exit the registry.

Follow the steps to delete the residual files from local folders:

1.Open My Computer.
2.Select the View tab.
3.Click on the Options button.
4.Select the change folder and search options. This will open the Folder Options.
5.Select the View tab.
6.In the Advanced settings locate the Show hidden files, folders, or drives option and select it.
7.Click on Apply and Ok to save the changes.
8.Next, type AVAST in the search bar in My Computer.
9.Wait for the search results to show up.
10.Check each one carefully.
11.Delete the Avast cleanup residual data.
