1.Temporary Exclusion:

1.Open Avast Antivirus.
2.Click on Scan on the main window.
3.Select ‘Create Custom Scan’ at the lower right corner.
4.Click on ‘Exclusions’.
5.Select ‘Browse’ to add files, folders and disks to exclude.
6.Click on ‘Add’.
7.Now you can proceed with Scan.

The files are being temporarily excluded during this scanning process. This is how you make exceptions in Avast temporarily.

2.Permanent Exclusion:

This type will create permanent exceptions. Be careful in selecting the locations. Follow the steps:

1.Open Avast Antivirus.
2.Go to ‘Settings’.
3.Click on ‘Antivirus’ and scroll down.
4.Select ‘Exclusions’ and browse the locations.
5.Click on ‘Add’ and insert them to the exception list.

To exclude the locations from this type of scanning, browse the file paths again and select an executable file for each task. Otherwise, the antivirus may not skip scanning the application’s executable files.
