What Is Reader Mode?
You will see all the text on the site without ads and images in the Reading Mode. All the distracting items will go away. The text won’t go away even if you switch to another tab while using the Reading mode. You can even have the site on one side and only the text on the other side.
How To Use Reader Mode On Chrome and Firefox?
Enable Reader Mode In Chrome:
To enable Reader Mode in Chrome, you must visit the experimental flags page, not settings. To do so:
1.Enter chrome://flags/ in the address bar.
2.Press enter.
3.Click the dropdown menu and choose Enabled.
4.You’ll need to relaunch Chrome.
5.When it restarts, all the tabs you had open will still be there.
6.Go to the site with the text you want to see in Reading Mode, after the browser starts.
7.Click on the Show side panel icon at the top right.
8.It looks like a square.
9.By default, the dropdown menu will be set to Reading List.
10.Click on the dropdown menu.
11.Choose Reading Mode.
Another way to enter to the reading mode is:
1.Highlight text on the site and right-clicking on it.
2.You’ll see an option to open the text in Reading Mode.
3.The text you highlighted on the site will also be in Reading Mode.
To close Reading Mode, you only need to click on the X at the top right of the feature. That’s close to the die panel.
How To Customize Reader Mode In Chrome?
You can change the look of the text in Chrome. There will be options on the top that will allow you to do so. You can change the font style, change the text size, and modify the theme. You can also adjust the letter spacing and line height. For letter spacing, there are options like standard, wide, and very wide. For line height, there are options like standard, loose, and very loose.
Enable Reader Mode In Firefox:
In Firefox, the Reader View button is at the end of the address bar at the top and to the left of the Bookmarks Start icon. When you click on it, all the distractions will be gone. You will not see any ads or other distracted content.
You will find the options like Close Reader View, Save to Pocket, and Listen on the left of the text. By listen option, you can listen the text instead of reading it.
