If the speed is slow, turn off the router for some time and restart it.
Method 2 – Reinstall Steam:
A corrupted steam application can cause this issue. Reinstalling the Steam can solve it. Follow the steps below:
1.Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run utility.
2.Type appwiz.cpl
3.Press Enter to open the Programs and Features panel.
4.Locate Steam among the other listed apps and right-click on it.
5.Select the Uninstall option.
6.Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
7.Visit the official Steam site.
8.Download the Steam installer.
9.Run the Steam installer.
10.Install the latest version of Steam.
Method 3 – Disable Antivirus:

Method 4 – Allow Steam Through Firewall:

1.Type Windows Defender Firewall in the Start menu
2.Select the top result.
3.Click on the Allow an app or feature through the Windows Defender Firewall option from the left panel.
4.Select the Change settings option to unlock the Allowed apps and features section.
5.Find Steam among the other listed applications and check all 3 boxes beside it.
6.If you don’t find Steam among the list, click on the Allow another app option.
7.Browse to the path of the Steam executable in the Steam installation folder.
8.Click on Add.
9.Check the boxes beside its name as mentioned in step 3.
Method 5 – Disable The Firewall:
If the above given solution didn’t work then, try to disable the firewall: To do so:
1.Type Windows Defender Firewall in the Start menu.
2.Select the top result.
3.Click on the Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off option from the left panel.
4.Check the Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended) in both the public and private network settings section.
